Problem with Final Cut Express

I have a very big problem with my Final Cut Express:

Every video that I upload to the timeline, no matter format,
a red line is appears on the top of the timeline and I need to sequence this movie.

Please help me...

The red line means it need to be rendered. I think you just need to hit Apple+R.

Exactly what video formats are you using?
