Problem with hard drive after time machine

I used time machine on a friends hard drive to back up my files for a reinstallation of Leopard but now my friends computer (vista) won't read the HD, it also doesn't work in XP. Can anyone help me fix it? Why is this happening?
 
Is it still set up as a time machine drive?

Chances are they may need to reformat the drive to use it in V.
