When I try to export a movie I made in imovie the part where I have used the scrolling credit effects comes out as a white screen..... I have tried rendering in various formats and sizes/settings . The only time it does not render white is if I uses the standard .mov setting at "tiny".

I have tried the same set of credits on the same set of film in a different project and had no problems. I have tried deleting and reloading the credit effect with no luck. I would redo the movie.. but it tok about 6 hours to put together and I would rather not....

Does anyone have any idea what is happening? Googling the problem brought up one person with the same problem but no answer..... I am open to any suggestions.

Thanks! :)

Ok I found a workaround that is at least partially acceptable. FIgured I would post if incase others need help.

Breaking the event into two scrolling credits fixes the problem, though it makes a weird gap. Seems the problem happens when you have long credits......

Hope this works.

I'm glad that I found this post--it's nice to know that I'm not the only one dealing with this problem. I'm trying to do what you suggested, and am hoping this works.

Is it just me, or does it seem ridiculous that this is happens? b/c even if splitting the scroll into two works, it then messes up the speed of the scroll-- b/c the reason you want longer credits is to slow it down, but if having a long scroll creates a white screen--then what?

This is disappointing.

sorry to bother you guys, but HOW DO YOU GET THE TEXT TO SCROLL??? its doesnt show me how, and google is a flop. could you please help me

Help with iMovie please: credits duration

Hi! So, I'm trying to do something pretty simple in iMovie:
I want to have my text scroll vertically (like credits) for 20 minutes.

I notice that when I go to "set duration," the max seconds seems to be 59 seconds.

AM I missing something here? Most movie credits scroll for a LONG TIME. Way longer than 59 seconds.

How can I have a continuously scrolling block of text for 20 minutes?

Thanks for your help!
