I'm using iMovie 09 to create some sports highlight videos of my kids. Been making them for a few years without issue. This fall, I'm recording games on a mini DV camcorder, and importing them into iMovie via a mini DV firewire cable. The video setting as they were being videotaped was set at 16:9, and video stabilization was used as they were imported. The clips, residing in an iMovie event, are sized at the same size as the original video. However, I'm having a problem when I move clips from an event into a project; they automatically zoom in when I don't want them to. (Clips I imported from a DVD do not exhibit this problem.) I read elsewhere on the web that I should make sure my settings are set to Fit and not Ken Burns or Crop. The problem still shows up. Any advice that might help me solve this issue?

Disregard, I found the fix.

Never mind, I figured it out. Apparently the image stabilization setting during import will zoom in on clips to give the software some leeway to stabilize the movement in the image. But there is a setting in the clip editing dialogue box the lets you adjust the amount of zoom in the stabilized clip.
