A question, those of you who have the new phone. I don't know if it's a bug or that, when you get into iphone storage, the bar that before divided you into categories with colours your space with colours now makes it like it loads but stays gray. Is it also happening to you?

did you restore from another phone through itunes, icloud, do an iphone to iphone transfer through Quick Setup?

I know when I did the initial iphone to iphone transfer, the iphone storage on my 12 Pro was taking awhile to process and assign colors, but it eventually did.

Mine is exactly like yours. I was on with 4 support reps the other night. The third escalated me to senior support and as he was helping me, he looked at his personal phone and had the same issue. He forwarded this issue on and said it seems to be a 14.1 bug.

Ok ok, thanks

i'm talking to apple tech support and they say they will call me tomorrow, that they will transfer it to a higher department. It looks like it's a bug, I don't know whether to restore from scratch ..

Mine is working as it should (shows the colors and splits). FWIW, I remember in the first few days of me having the phone, the storage used showed way more than I actually had. I think it was because I did a iPhone > iPhone transfer to move everything over from my X -> 12 Pro, and my photos were still being optimized and stored in iCloud.

After a few days, it settled down and the proper phone storage showed up. I don't remember if during this time period, the split was greyed out or had the colors... but the colors (and the right storage usage) is now showing correctly.

I send you a photo so you can see it... perhaps because of the not yet synchronisation of photos in icloud? To those who happen like me, do those icloud photos have them synchronised?

Interesting. clicking on iCloud, I get the following picture below number 2, which shows the storage colors, however in the first picture after going into General first > iPhone storage, I get the grayed out storage version.

Exactly like me, in ICloud I do perfectly. The gray storage bar tries to load the categories but then it remains totally gray. I think it is a bug in IOS 14.1

The storage colors in iCloud is for iCloud’s storage not the iPhone storage so it's unrelated. For me, the colors always take a second to appear.

Look at me what happens to me, but there must be more cases the same. The same thing happens to the person I sold it, my previous iPhone X
