Problem with loading .mpg

Hey,

I'm having trouble playing .mpg files on my MacBook. Quicktime won't open it and VLC only plays the audio. Any way I can fix this?
 
Could be that you need the MPEG-2 plugin, but VLC should have been able to handle it. Any more details you can provide?
