I have a late-2009 MacBook Pro. When I turn it on, I get the blinking file-question mark icon. Tested the hard drive from it on another MAC, and it works. Tested the RAM on another MAC, and it works. Ran a Hardware test from an apple DVD, and it gave me "4mot/1/40000002: exhaust-0" error (fan problem). I checked, and the fan isnt working. What could be the problem that it doesnt boot up??

I will check once I have the chance. Could it be the cpu thats fried? would the computer boot from cd if the cpu was fried??

Just a friendly FYI MAC and Mac are two different things. MAC stands for media access control and Mac is a Mac computer.

(I didn't mean that snarky in any way, many people don't realize they are two different things).
