Hello,

I was going to update to snow leopard now and everytime I put the DVD in the computer doesn't read it and ejects it. Is the CD/DVD drive damage?... this is a new macbook pro. Is there another way to install snow?

Are you able to use any other discs in the drive, try a few audio CD's and DVD's and see if it spits them out also or works fine.

If it spits it out then its the drive, if it reads them and plays those fine then it could be the OS disc.

Oh and another note, are you using a retail disc or just trying to install a copy that came with another machine or is this the full retail version?

Well then like I said before its the drive, I would definitely want to consider having Apple take a look at it since you mentioned its new, just stick Snow off to the side for now and install when you have a fully functional drive.

Thanks... I'll do that tomorrow... thanks!

Well I took the MBP to the Apple Service Store and they did something about the EFI update. They didn't have to change the CD/DVD drive...

Strange!... I'm happy to have my computer back.. :p
