First post here, but i've been lurking for a while. This place has helped me in the past with audio flex cable and MBA hinge issues so i'm hoping you kind folks are abel to offer some assistance this time.

I've had my Macbook air for some time now, years even. It's a revision A. The audio went a while back and I made do with an external usb sound card as i was to cheap/poor to get it repaired but I bought this up in january when the hinge went and the Genius bar replaced them both free of charge (largely thanks to the good advice I got here)

This morning however my track pad button went funny. Its like its recessed on one side. If I push the other side it almost see-saws. If I touch it, it recognises it as a click even though it does not physically click. Is there anything that can be done with this? is there a fix to unscrew the back of it and push it back out, or because i've recently had it repaired (even though its outside the 90 days now) apple will still take responsibility for it?

Any other advice would be great!

    Thanks.

Apple can repair the trackpad in store. They did it for mine. Make an appointment and go see them.

I considered taking it to apple, but the nearest store is quite a distance away from me, plus its not cheap.

Out of curiosity, I took the back off he machine to see if there was anything I could do myself. As soon as the back was off it worked fine.

y only assumption is that the battery has swelled and was pushing against the back of it.

I replaced the back but left the 2 screws under the trackpad slight;y looser.

    Works fine now!

Is the battery swelling problem an issue with the MBA's?
