Somehow, something got majorly screwed up. I cannot open notes. It opens and immediately shuts. This is the message I get.

Application Specific Information:
*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInternalInconsistencyException', reason: 'Got more than one folder with folderId AAMkAGE0YWY0NWYxLTY5MTktNDQ2OC05ZGU5LWMwZTQyNGQyMzhiMQAuAAAAAACOyHcsYgIDQqIatDkRu5BeAQAVSysgx6srToYHv39HJ0QXAAIQzTxDAAA='
abort() called
terminating with uncaught exception of type NSException

It looks like I had a duplicate copy of Notes in my Burn folder for some reason. I deleted it but that didn't help; still got the above message....what do I do now? I've tried Time Machine; it just says Notes can't be changed because it's a Mac app. I've restarted numerous times as well. Appreciate any suggestions.

Are you restoring to your most recent backup each time or to older backups? Also it's more time consuming but you could always clean install OS X and just manually retrieve your data from your Time Machine Backups.backupdb file (basically drag and drop).
