Hello,

My MBP will not read my cd. I was wondering if there is any way to get the installer from the cd to my laptop without having to actually use my cd?

You can install off an SD card if you have a built-in reader. You could use a USB CD drive, maybe a USB SD card reader, and maybe Airport Disk, which was designed to let Macbook Airs wirelessly use the CD drive in another computer (even a PC). I don't know if Airport Disk works on MBPs, though.

Hey Jack.. May I ask what type of MacBookPro do you have? If you are experiencing a no read issue with your optical drive go ahead and go to System Profiler and check if your ODD is visible. If it is you might want to go ahead and reset the SMC. Depending on the system you have, the proceedure to reset the SMC will be. You may find more info on the www.apple.com/support website. Just search for Reset SMC. If you continue to have problems, I strongly encourage you to visit your nearest Genius Bar at an Apple Store for help and support :) I'll be arround here somewhere if you have any questions. :apple:
