I purchased another new iphone last week (gave the other one to my wife) and all of a sudden it will not sync properly with Outlook. I never had this problem before with the older iphone. I even did a complete re-install of itunes with the latest iphone update, as well as a re-install of Outlook and nothing has helped.

I spent three hours on the phone with Apple, and they could not figure it out either?

Go to Help/About Outlook. Click the "Disabled Add-Ins" button on the bottom right and see if the iTunes add-in is listed as disabled. If it is, re-enable the add-in and see if Outlook will restart without crashing. If it does, great!

If it doesn't (it didn't for me) the fix that has worked is to re-enable the add-in, but shut down Outlook and reinstall it before restarting it. Reinstall, don't repair, as that doesn't make any difference. When you restart Outlook after the reinstall, your add-in should be working so the sync will work too.

I've done this a few times as the fix would work for a while and then Outlook would suffer a fatal error and disable the iTunes add-in again. The latest time seems to be holding (two weeks now), for no apparent reason because I did nothing different (gotta love Microsoft!).
