I have just started having a problem opening Preview on my Macbook Pro. The icon on the dock just bounces and nothing else happens. I believe this might be because it is trying to open so many windows at once. Is there any way to stop it from trying to do this, or is it likely that there is something else causing this to happen. It has worked fine up until today. Thanks for any answers.

Have you tried deleting "com.apple.PREVIEW.plist" in Macintosh HD / Users / YOU / Library / Preferences / yet?

What Mac OS X version do you use?

I am using Lion. I did get it straightened out. It wound up that I simply rebooted my computer and it opened up, but in the future I will remember this if I have the problem again. I guess I need to close files, before I close preview, occasionally. :)

You can always turn off this window-opening feature globally by going to System Preference>General and check "close windows when quitting an application" (it may be worded slightly differently in Lion). Or if you just want it for Preview you can quit Preview using Alt-Command-Q (instead of just Command-Q).
