Problem with ripping CD w/ Itunes 7.0

Im working off an Inspiron 1150. Ive had no real problem ripping cd's via Itunes until I downloaded 7.0. It now rips at a disk speed under 1.0x. Anyone else have this problem?

Have you tried a different CD?

yeah

tried it with a different cd but it didn't burn any faster.
