Problem with Software Update

Hi I've only been a Mac user for 4 months and I'm not good with computers in general...Recently I've been having problems when trying to update the software. I can't install any updates as I kept getting the message that there was a networking error and telling me that I need to check my internet connection. But my internet is working fine, I've checked that I'm connecting directly etc. The funny thing is, I'm also not able to connect to my MSN...

Advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Well, I see you're a long way from Cupertino and I'm not sure what Apple has in place for servers in your neck of the woods. You might be better off just manually downloading updates from the apple web site.
