Hey Guys,

A friend and I have been trying to do a video chat with iChat (via AIM). For some reason every time we try to initiate the chat, it comes back with an error and asks if it should be sent to apple.

So, she can't video chat with ANYONE. However, I am able to video chat with others from my computer, but not her.

So, you may suggest that ports need to be forwarded, but I don't think this is the case, because they used a different laptop (macbook) on the same network and the video call initiated fine and worked. So this must mean that it is a problem with her specific laptop or software.

Do you have any ideas on how to fix this? Thank you.

Try going into iChat preferences -> audio/video and set the bandwidth limit to something reasonably less than your connection speed (I use 500 kbps) - this fixed some similar sounding video chat problems for me.

Zortrium, thanks for the suggestion, I'll tell her to give that a try.

In the meantime, does anyone else have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks.
