Still can't get it to work. Have tried everything. When I write ifconfig en1 in Terminal, I don't get this "inet xxxxx netmask" number. My connection is called 802.1x. Maybe this isn't an ethernet connection. Any ideas?

I just used the same ip he wrote, 10.0.2.1

So on ip address I wrote 10.0.2.4
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
Gateway 10.0.2.1

I can't remember my dns but just type server on terminal and the ip should be quite at the bottom just after SERVER.

THank you!! My family has lived in Hong Kong for two years now, and ever since they moved i've been trying to connect their Wiis and DSes. They connect with PPPoE so nothing has worked.

I just tried this from my powerbook and viola! Wii is updating! Thanks so much!

Connecting with leopard(?)

I recently purchased a wii, and I've tried several of these guides with no luck. I'm running leopard, and it seems most of these tutorials are written for tiger. Does anyone know of any reasons why running leopard may affect my ability to connect my iMac to my wii using the built-in airport? Any help and or guideance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Final word getting proper password to work on Wii

Thanks to previous posters who steered me in the right direction.

At least on OS 10.5, I found an easy answer to getting the right password set up on the Wii when connecting through an airport.

Go to Airport Utilities
Click manual setup on your base station
In the top menu bar, go to Base Station
Under Base Station go to "Equivalent Network Password"
A small pop up will give you the converted password that you will need for devices such as the Wii.

Once I entered this password on my Wii wireless connection setup (WEP), then it all worked just fine.

hey guys,

ive been following these tutorials very closely, but to no avail. My first attempt to connect my imac to my wii worked, first try. Then my imac went into sleep mode and destroyed my connection. It longer works at all.

I cleared all my setting and tried it again, and again...different tutorials etc., i either get a 52131 or 52230 error on connection test.

im using an imac with the built in airport card.

Any help guys? Im spending about 3-4 hours a night trouble shooting this, getting kinda tired of these errors...as i never play my wii offline so its useless to me without a connection...

I think the problem must be with leopard. All the guides are written for 10.4 so it just doesn't seem to work. You put in all the details and a random error message will come up.

Why isn't this just sensible and automatic!

Is there a way to share internet as an AOSS point?
