Trying to follow http://wiki.awkwardtv.org/wiki/Take2patch here, and using the alternative shell script to fetch the needed files of the Tiger disc since I have Leopard installed on all my machines.

I only have the install DVD from my new iMac that I got right before Leopard came out, but appearantly it's missing several files used in the patchstick process. Here's a paste from my terminal:

    Tardis-2:patchstick cstromme$ sudo ./createPatchstick.sh /dev/disk1

--- Generation of Apple TV Patchstick ---

Updated to search for and use Tiger volumes by clith.

So. What's going on here? Did they change the location on the last Tiger install discs?

Do a ls of one of those folders and see if the files really are there?

    ls -l /Volumes/Mac OS X Install Disc 1/System/Library/Extensions/AppleACPIPlatform.kext

They're not there. That's why I'm puzzled. Apparently they moved stuff around for the last Tiger install DVDs. The question is just to where? I can't seem to find them anywhere.

If someone with an older Tiger DVD could look through it and see if those files exist on it I would very much appreciate it. :)

No, they're not on my MBP's restore DVD, which is Mac OS 10.4.8. Not sure if that's the same version of the disc that yours is.

I'm guessing that the restore DVD has just enough OS X installed on it to boot and run the installation program. I bet the rest of the files are packaged up and are written out to the destination drive during the installation process.

I don't know if it helps any, but the link you gave in your OP apparently has instructions for Leopard users. Looks like you download one of the 10.4 combo updates and snag the files directly from that. Maybe that'll work?
