i have vmac running and downloaded some games (especialy scepters that i played on may macplus when i was young)
so i have the files a a .hqx file.
on my winxp pc i have hfv explorer to make diskimages but i cant extract the files cause they will be destroyed by extracting on a win machine . i cant extract the in vmac because i dont have stuff it on it. the only old version for stuff it i find are STUFFED so i have the same prob with stuff it.....

on my mac osX i ca extract the files but i have no idea how to make a .dsk file on osx so that i can get it into vmac.......

what can i do??

Hey Splend.

What I did was use Basilisk II to serve as a bridge between my PC and Mini vMac.

You can download a version of stuffit expander onto your PC. Try Stuffit expander 5.5 I believe it's a sea file so you won't need anything to expand it.

Don't open it. Use HFVexplorer to create a disk image. Copy the version of stuffit expander onto that disk image. In Basilisk, you can then install expander on the desktop. You create another disk image in basilisk that will be the disk vMac will see.

Whatever app/game you expand in Basilisk, you copy the extracted contents onto the disk image you created in basilisk. Shut down basilisk and open vmac. Then you select that image you created in basilisk with your copied came and you should be up and running.

These are HORRIBLE instructions i realize this. This is just a basic run down of what I did to get games up and running on mini Vmac.

The guys at Emaculation.com are excellent!

They pretty much got me up and running from zero.

note. I am using mini vMac

is it possible to make a sea file out of an sit? if yes, how? the stuff it expander on my mac only extract.. and the pc version makes exe files not sit files
