problems installing canon pro 9000 ii

I've spent the better part of the afternoon trying to get this to work.
Macbook pro 5.2
I've installed the driver 10.36.3.0 for the canon pro 9000 ii
The driver will not let me change media types.
If I go under options & Supplies
Then driver...there are no tabs to change anything. I can change the default paper size, but thats it.
I've tried reinstalling the driver several times.
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
