Hello everyone. I've searched through the forums as best I can, and I haven't found anything related to this. My video card on my mac pro 1,1 recently died on me. I purchased the Apple gt 120 upgrade kit and installed it, but I am not getting a picture. My monitor has a DVI connection, do I need to have a monitor plugged into the mini display port instead of the DVI slot? And if so, do I have to purchase the official Apple converter for 30 bucks or is there a cheaper option?

    For what it's worth:

    Mac Pro 1,1
    OSX 10.5.8
    6 GB RAM
    Nvidia GT 120

I'm pretty sure those are the correct stats, I can't actually boot up my compter to find out. Thanks for the help!

The GT 120 is not compatible with the Mac Pro 1,1. ATI cards are generally compatible with all Mac Pros. NVidia cards, unless specifically marked as such, are not.

well, crap. I had a 3870 before this, but I was strapped for cash this time and bought the cheaper 120 because I didn't wnat to spend 300 bucks on a 5870. Guess I'll see if I can return it.
