I just replaced the hardrive in one of my macbooks. i am trying to load snow leopard on it and it just skips through the installation and says Intallion failed?

anyone have any thoughts. i am installng it from an external harddrive!

First, you are trying to install Leopard...Snow Leopard hasn't been released.

I'd boot from your original Leopard disk, run disk utilities to check the new hard drive, then install from the Leopard disk. Then download the 10.5.7 update to finish the process.

If you used SuperDuper or CarbonCopyCloner to duplicate your original drive to the external. You can copy back to the new internal hard drive.

nope. i am definitly trying to install snow leopard beta build 10A354. any help would be appriciated!

thanks. i have also tried burning from DVD and it is doing the same thing

When you burn to a DVD are you using Disk Utility or something equivalent? You can't just copy it onto the DVD it has to be bootable.

As fishcorp said, contact ADC support. Assuming you have an active ADC Select or Premium member they will help you. Also, assuming you have a membership with seeding privileges, you did sign an NDA and since Snow Leopard has yet to be released you should not be discussing it on a public forum. If you are not a member, you are using pirated software: read the rules and expect this thread to be waste-landed.

This is why we don't download random iso/dmgs on the internet and try to install them ha ha ha
