Problems opening up Microsoft Outlook

    Hi, I had a problem with my Microsoft Outlook so I deleted Microsoft office for mac, I reinstalled it and now a message keeps telling me....This Identity cannot be opened with this version of outlook???? it has been working before so what /how can I get it working again?

    I solved this by going on this site
    http://www.office.mvps.org/
    I needed an update, once downloaded it worked again, so if anybody else is having the same problem the answer is on this site..:D

    if you installed it with the first revision of office 2011, there are at least 2 updates you need to perform before it is on the latest version. With word/excel/etc open, go to help-check for updates. Quit the office app that you opened and install. Once that's complete repeat that process until it says there are no updates available at this time.

    You should then be able to use outlook without running into this issue
