My mac pro is by far the WORST computer I have ever had. Let me list the problems i have had every day since i bought it:

1) Random blue screens (lite blue, like at log in)
2) DVD Drive works every other boot up
3) USB PORTS work sometimes, other times dont work at all
4) random hard drive unmounts
5) graphic errors ALL THE TIME
6) Random crashes
7) hard drives telling me they have 0 files, when I plug them into my imac they magically have 200+ files
8) imovie crashes ALL THE TIME
9) final cut crashes ALL THE TIME
10) air port card works some times.
APPLE is yet to fix ANY of these problems, and they refuse to replace my computer. WTF! Im at my wits end with this p.o.s.

BTW apple: Im sick of hearing; reset the pram, oh that didn't work, try repairing disk permissions, oh that didn't work.... hum.... i will be back.... (10 minutes pass) .... um run a hardware test.... oh no results... we will have to get back to you...... BS I want my $4000 mac pro fixed! Is that so much to ask? COME ON!

buy it new or used or refurb?

from Apple or 3rd party?

OEM ram or did you add more ram? does it act like this with just the OEM ram in it?

that's way too many problems to solved on an internet forum, but, ram and motherboard are two likely culprits...

at some point, lemon laws (been in for service x times over y months for the same issue(s)) should kick in... Apple is usually pretty reasonable about lemons, if you are having that many problems with it, ask for a replacement

Somewhere over the rainbow
Why not just cooperate with them and bring it in? With all those problems you list up, you can't be getting much work done anyway. You may just end up walking out of the store with a new one, which is what you want after all.

I get it, you're angry about the situation... but you will get more bees with honey than vinegar...

I think you would rather bring the computer into an Apple store and meet with someone face to face... if all you've ever done is call Apple and post on forums... you are still pretty much at step 1.

You need to build a case showing that this computer is a lemon and you have done this that and the other to fix it and you need resolution.

Is it still under warranty? Has Apple seen the computer or has it ever been in for service?

Because I know for a fact they are going to tell me its not broken because all those problems don't hit me at start up, they are hard to reproduce. I just want them to replace it or I will gladly take my money back.

they replaced a graphic card, it is still under warranty. I just want to get rid of this p.o.s. I don't want to deal with it any more. I can't import a video clip without something crashing or breaking.

Duff-Man says....Apple are not likely to just give you a new one if you've "refused" to even let them have a look at the computer at least once. They are generally fairly reasonable to deal with and if it is shown that the computer has had several service calls (and again, I don't mean complaining on the phone with them never physically having worked on the computer) then chances are they will help you out....you have to give them a chance to fix it first....oh yeah!

Im taking it in on saturday.

I wish steve jobs could see all the problems I have, this is bull.

Duff-Man says....just keep calm when you take it in and explain things clearly and in detail. Let them take the time to diagnose it if need be.

Yes, of course it is frustrating when it is not functioning as it is supposed to but you also have to remember that they can't just hand a new computer over to anyone that walks in the door saying "hey, this ain't working" - they'd either be out of business or their prices would be even higher....you have to give them a *fair* chance to fix it for you. When you have, and if there are then still issues, then take it up to a higher level (by that I mean, speak to a manager or product specialist)....oh yeah!
