For various reasons, I have all my mail delivered to a box at a UPS store. For those unfamiliar, these aren’t like PO boxes where only the post office has access - It’s just a street address and a box number, just as if you were delivering to an apartment. Anyone from any shipping company or the USPS can just walk in and hand the package to anyone behind the counter (they will sign as needed) I’ve had everything delivered to this location for a long time, and never had any problems with any sort of shipment.

However, when I called Apple to fix a problem with the address, the woman on the phone seemed convinced Apple would not be able to deliver to a UPS store, claiming that it hadn't worked in the past. This makes no sense to me, as it's indistinguishable from a home or apartment address from the shipper's perspective - it's the default address on my account, and it's under my name. I think she has bad info, but I'm curious if anyone else has shipped an iPhone to a UPS box before.

Yeah, but I believe it's an indirect signature - so anyone at the delivery address can sign for it. This is actually one of the reasons I use the UPS box. My apartment has a locked front gate, and although the code is on file with UPS/Fedex, the drivers never seem to use it, so I never get my packages. The UPS store always has staff there to sign for any packages.

I contacted Apple support chat and got someone who was very helpful:
Apple Support said:
Per Apple policy we are not able to ship to PO Box addresses or fright forwarding addresses as it does allow people to bulk buy within the system. So long as your shipping address is not a PO Box or freight forwarding address you would be ok to use that shipping address no problem as I do so myself. i use my FedEx retail store address to have them sign for it for me as I don’t like packages left at my Condo complex.

If the person from Apple support literally does the exact same thing I do with no problems, I figure I'm good…
