For some reason my mac has been experiencing problems shutting down. It looks as though it is shutting down normally and then the screen darkens from top to bottom with an error message. I can't get a screen shot of the message but all it says is that there has been an error. It happens seemingly at random occasions but then when I subsequently log back on there is an message saying that MACOSX has an error and when I click details it comes out with the following:

    Whatever that means?

I'm guessing it could be something to do with my DIGI ProTools MBox...

Could very well be, indeed. There was this line in the crash info:

    com.digidesign.mbox2.boot.driver 8.0.0f1 - last loaded 27264722995109

Driver version 8.0.0f1. 8.0.0 drivers were only supported on 10.5.5 through 10.5.8. They recently rolled out a 8.0.1 driver update that works on Snow Leopard:

    http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?navid=3&itemid=39471&langid=1

I'm not too familiar with DigiDesign's tools, so make sure this is indeed an appropriate upgrade for your existing driver before proceeding further -- and to have a good Time Machine backup in place first.
