Problems syncing bookmarks

Hi,
My new Ipad synced the bookmarks from my laptop the first time.
Now I deleted some bookmarks from my laptop and I was expecting the next time I sync my Ipad the bookmarks would be updated too.
This wasn't the case, the bookmarks hasn't been updated.

my browser is Safari and I'm on Leopard.
what to do?
