Hi all, yes it's Christmas Day and I'm installing some RAM for my mac. I recently got 2 x 2GB 200-pin DDR2 SO-DIMM PC2 - 6400 CL6 RAM. When I install it and turn it on, it boots up and makes the whirs like it should, however I just get a black screen and nothing comes up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What iMac do you have, or if you don't know that, when did you buy it?

I have the same Mac. Have you made sure, the RAM is properly seated and orientated?
Have you removed the RAM and seen, if the old RAM still makes the iMac boot? Have you combined one stick of old and one stick of new RAM to see the same?
Yes I've tried reseating several times and it doesnt make a difference. I tried the old ones and it boots fine. I haven't muddled them up i've made sure by checking the labels. Can it be something to do with the memory frequency? My iMac runs at 667MHz and the ones i just bought run at 800 i think :/
