I have an iPad 6th generation. After the latest update 17.7.7 I’ve been having problems with certain, but not all apps. Wikipedia, Duck Duck Go, Letterboxd and others. Every time I open them it’s like the first time and I have to sign up or do a tour of the app. I can’t seem to do anything about it. Any ideas?

Hello,
I have the same problem on my iPad Pro (10,5"). The solution by now is to downgrade to iPadOS 17.7.6.

I tried to revert my iPad Pro 10.5 cellular to 17.7.6 using the IPSW file from ipsw.me. During setup, I came to a screen saying Update Now to 17.7.7 and could not find a way to skip it. Now stuck with 17.7.7 again.

Update: it is necessary to turn off all automatic update features on the iPad before reverting to 17.7.6. Currently restoring from backup on my Mac made under 17.7.6. Seems to be going well.

I've experienced the same problems as the OP. Also, when Safari is restarted all the options for edit the start page are turned ON! I normally run with only Reading List and iCloud Tabs.

Will try to revert to my most recent backup of 17.7.6 on my Mac.

I tried to restore from the iPad backup on my Mac after making sure auto update was turned off and the iCloud backup from last night was deleted. The restore reinstalled 17.7.7. Were you successful and how?

Thanks.

After downloading the IPSW file from ipsw.me for my model, I went back to Finder, pressed and held Alt/Option, then clicked on Restore. That let me navigate to the downloaded IPSW. Once that was installed, I set up the iPad as new, now running 17.7.6, then restored from my local backup.

One little hitch: during the backup restoration, Sync stalled after copying all my music files. I closed the Finder window, unplugged the iPad, plugged it back in, and opened a Finder window. Sync again copied all the music files, but this time succeeded.
