Problems with battery charger

Hey there,

I connect my battery charger into the wall and the other end of the cable into my macbook pro and it says in osx : not charging. Do you guys know what might be the problem?

Is the charger done? Will it be still under warranty?

I do have a peryn based macbook pro early 2008.
