Whenever I try to connect to the campus Wifi and my community college, Safari pops up with a log-in screen. You are supposed to type your student login, but if you do, you are immediately kicked off the network. Here's how it is supposed to work, how it DOES work on my MBP, and how it USED to work with my iPod touch (pre 3.0):
You connect to the network. When you try to connect to a server outside of the campus network (in other words, you try and visit a site that's not the school site), you are redirected to an authentication page. You type in your student login, and if it's correct, you are redirected to the page you were trying to go to originally, and you are then free to access the entire internet.
So, does anybody know what is going on? Is there a way to disable the login page and just login through the browser as you would on a laptop (or pre 3.0)? Am I doing something wrong? Is the problem on the school's end?
