Hey y'all!
So I've been trying to play this game called "Race" on my MacBook Pro in Crossover, via Steam.

At first, I installed Crossover, I created a bottle (WinXP) and installed Steam in the Bottle. I also installed DirectX 9.0c in the bottle.
Afterwards, I start Steam via Crossover, I go to my games (where I have my full version of Race - The WTCC Game. I push "Start" in the right bottom corner, then it asks if I want to start the game, or start the video and language options. I push "start game".

Then I get the a popup window where I choose videosettings and more (see attachment). I push "OK".
Then you expect the game to start up, right?
Well, it doesn't, the same window pops up again. I push "OK" once again, but nothing happens.

I tried to start a demoversion of the game, that didn't require Steam, and that tells me that I don't have DirectX 9.0c installed, which I have?!

I REALLY NEED HELP!!

The only thing I could find was a "how-to" to install it under Wine, which is the underlying core of CrossOver. Unfortunately, it has a rating of "Garbage", which means it's not usable under Wine. That would lead me to guess that odds are no one has gotten it working correctly under CrossOver either.

It actually doesn't even show up in the CrossOver Compability web site, so you might consider making an entry for it there. That way at least the CrossOver developers would know this game is important to you, and if others feel the same way, others will join you in trying to figure out what it takes to make it work.

In the meantime, your only option is likely VMware Fusion/Parallels Desktop and see how it runs there... although of course I'm sure it works under Boot Camp.
