This morning was the 2nd time our Verizon Network Extender has screwed up the date on our iPhone's (wife and I both have a 6 plus on iOS 8.1). And both times it has set the date on our phones to months and now years into the future.

The first time was I think March something of 2015, and the one this morning set our date to April 12, 2019. This of course caused the phones to sign us out of iMessage and iTunes Radio....both of which are easy to fix by simply signing back into them after fixing the date back to the current correct date.

This morning a reboot of the phones was all it took to fix the date on both phones. But fixing the date didn't fix the data in the Health app for me. There was some data that was saved as April 12, 2019 and it happened to be a lot of it. Unfortunately the app has stopped recording any data whatsoever.

The only way I was able to get the app to start recording any data again was to do a reset all settings...which ended up being very inconvenient because of all the passwords and such that I had to re-enter. I'm not going to go through that again just to get the health app to work again....it's just not worth it.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has had any of these sort of problems with the health app...and if they have figured out an easier way to get it to start working again short of resetting all settings. I've tried soft reboot and hard reboots and neither of those helped at all.

I had similar issues with the Health App. I was manually entering in some data and I did it on a date that was in the future by mistake. All data from the date I entered the data to the date that the data was entered (if that makes sense) did not record. I deleted all future data and it went back to normal.

So if you had even a single step, flight of stairs, or .01mile recorded on the 2019 date, nothing else will be added until that date. So if it happens again, try going in and removing the most recent data from each category (to get it back to present day) and it should be good to go.

I tried doing that at first but I noticed that for data over the past few days (since November 11th) was being marked as saved on April 12th. And there was at least 1000 lines that indicated they were saved on April 12th. I got maybe 200 lines deleted before I lost patience and decided to delete it all. (Keep in mind I would have to delete just as much under the distance part of the app). After doing that it refuses to record any data.

I'm hoping Apple will release an update to fix this annoying issue. If that don't or can't figure it out then I suppose I won't be getting an Apple watch when it's released...seeing as how half of what it's designed to do will be useless for me.

Well, with the update to 8.2 today I'm happy to report that it has fixed the health app for me. It's actually showing data again.

Glad it is working for you again! But, unfortunate that it took several months to fix it.

What is weird is that my wife had the same problems with the Verizon Network Extender screwing up the date on her phone (we would both be on the same date both times it happened) but yet it never affected her health app. No idea what made my phone so special...but I'm just glad it's back to showing data again.
