I downloaded and installed this program. When the demo period ended and constant and annoying popup has occurred. Don't get involved with this program!

    I don't trust Smith Micro

Though tempted by Internet Cleanup 5, I am abstaining because I have had unhappy experiences with Smith Micro before. Notably, I installed mail cleanup in MAIL under 10.4.9 (I was having a problem of MAIL quitting on me all the time and thought a cleanup might help) and ended up losing all my email. That was a TREMENDOUS pain in the ass from which I have not yet recovered and never will.

Also after submitting my computer to a test offered on the internet that had popped out of nowhere, I was PLAGUED (not exaggerating) by popups I had trouble getting rid of, telling me my computer had a large number of spyware or some such, without telling me what or where they were (I had to buy the program to get rid of the alleged spyware whose existence seemed uncertain).

I am leery of anything that comes from people who use such tactics.

You should also read the reviews at

Internet Cleanup apparently depends on KEXT files which Apple does not recommend installing into the OS. Until I get news that whatever difficulties in that area have been resolved, I would definitely stay away from Internet Cleanup.

    Internet Cleanup is Crap

:mad:This program is totally worthless. You can do basically everything that it offers yourself if you have a moderate level of expertise with your mac.

One thing you CANNOT do is uninstall the damn thing. It's like a virus!

Trust me, once you figure out how worthless this program is it will have already started screwing up your computer. Then good luck uninstalling it.

Even by following SmithMicro's directions to a T, I am now getting messages popping up every two minutes saying "The installed version of Internet Cleanup has expired, to purchase the demo..."

Haha I can't believe they actually would expect anyone to purchase this after using the demo.
