I have the Logitech create keyboard that I purchased from apple for my IPad Pro.

I was wondering if anyone else has problems with it sometimes?

There are times I will be in the midst of typing, and it act as if the keyboard has completely disconnected and the keyboard on the screen will pop up. Or times that I connect it and it acts as if it wasn't on it whatsoever.

That isn't an issue I've ever experienced on the Apple Smart Keyboard. I do run into issues where the keyboard stops responding or accepting shortcuts, but it doesn't bring up the on screen keyboard. Perhaps try cleaning the connector or doing a restart?

I have tried doing both, is there something specific I should try to clean the connector with? I just tried wiping it off with some cloths

That just shouldn't happen, I don't have the Logitech, I have the Apple Smart Keyboard and I've never had a disconnect or lack of response at all so far. That's even using it on my lap, which certainly isn't flat.

The connectors really aren't old enough to have built up any oxidisation or anything. Other than there being a quite visible build up of dirt and grime from somewhere somehow, the connection should be good. You can try giving both sets a clean with alcohol, just to be sure they are fully clean and grime free of you like to see if it makes a difference.

But if it's persistent, I'd be inclined to pop along to the Apple Store and try a replacement, there may be an internal fault, these things happen.

If the tablet slightly is pushed from behind or of its at an extreme angle , this could cause the tablet to disconnect temporally. It is top heavy. Not a fault of the create accessory.

I've had the create since launch day in November and don't experience this in daily use.

Keep your contacts clean and make sure your tabler is firmly in the create case.

Return it as it may be a faulty keyboard.

I use it on a desk which is flat so shouldn't be a problem

I have the Logitech keyboard and I have not had this issue. If there is no convenient apple store I would try calling AppleCare and see. If you can make any headway with phone customer support.

Point is op, this is not something you should be seeing in daily use.

The tablet is top heavy, so if you type hard you may shake the tablet enough that it loses connection with the ports on the Logitech. I've not ever had this happen and now with the latest update, the slow keys issue that has Ben noted to death is eliminated ...

Agree with above, get a replacement.

Thanks guys, gonna contact apple and see what they can do for me

I've replaced 5 Logitech Creates for different problems. (No backlit, not connecting…etc. the current Create works 80% of the time. Sometimes I have to disconnect and reconnect the keyboard some times.

I also have times where he backlight won't work for a good 10-20 seconds while typing me and whatnot

Same. I'm mostly in a lit room so it's not really a big deal. (Yet). I was hoping since a 9.7' iPad Pro is releasing with the Smart Keyboard they would upgrade it with Backlight. Nope.
