Problems with IR and Apple Remote new 15" i5

Anyone experiencing problems with Apple Remote? It works well, and suddenly stops working so I need to reboot in order continue using it.

It's a new 15" i5 MBP, Power Point 2008 and a brand new Apple Remote.
