Problems with new MBP and iWork?

    HI guys, I just bought a new MBP and used time machine to back it up from my iMac. I just went into a saved Word Doc on my desktop and tried to edit it but it won't let me. It's saying I need to upgrade to iWork 08 to edit my own Microsoft Office Word Doc on a 2010 computer running Snow Leopard?

    How come this wasn't a problem on my iMac? I thought I just backed them up to be identical?

    Help! :)

    I just worked it out! Word needed to be set as my default opener and it works.

    Is iwork worth buying or no point if I have Microsoft Office?

    So should I get iWork or is it a waste of money if I have Office? Cheers
