iPhone Problems with personal hospot

Good morning.

This is my first issue here so i would try to clarify my problem. I have Iphone 6+, ios 8.1, jailed. The problem is that mys iphone stopped tethering with my MBP. I tried everything written on apple support with my MBP, even reinstalling Yosemite. Nothing helped me. I've tried to tether my wife's iphone 5s (not jailed), everything works. I've tried both USB and WiFi tethering. With USB nothing happens, with WiFi I see only exclamation mark.

I tried to reset iphone network setting on iphone, deleting tweaks and as a result - nothing. I do not know how to make logs on this point, so in case you need, kindly ask you to explain how to do it.

Go into Settings and reset your Network settings. That should help.

Here's what I had to do to get mine working. (Thanks to MyWi support staff for these instructions)

Phone USB Tethering not working

Having compared two machines, (one updated the other not) the update of iTunes to 10.7 and now iTunes 11 installed an AppleUSBEthernetHost.kext version 2.3.6 and in the process messed it up.

You need to replace this kext with a good version or an earlier working version.

To do this, download KextUtility and install it, then drag the old working kext onto the KextUtility icon, it will replace the broken version and fix any other permission issues in your Syst/Lib/Ext folder.

So I've tried everything abovesaid: resetting network settings, replacing kext files (both, each time rebooting mbp). Nothing helped me. Just in case I've tried to connect my iPad mini to my iPhone wifi personal hotspot still no result - could not connect to network. Thus, I think that the problem is in my iPhone. I will repeat myself that wife's iPhone do tethering to my mbp in both ways: through usb and wifi.
I will do hope that somebody can help, because I do need personal hotspot.

Does that iPhones personal hotspot let other devices to connect to it? Like other laptops, iPads or other wifi devices?
Is it just that Mac that can't connect to thst iPhones hotspot or is it everything won't connect?

Every device could not connect. But the problem was solved by deleting some tweaks: tetherstatus and vine++. The most strange that I have installed them again and personal hotspot is working. Thus the reason for break could not be found!(((

Sorry to hijack the thread. Quick question about tethering. I have an android phone now with unlimited Verizon 4G and would like to switch to an iPhone in the near future. Will I be able to tether using the iPhone, in the situation where I'm unable to jailbreak it if it's on the latest iOS software.

I.e., can I just download a tethering app and tether my unlimited 4G or has Verizon disabled tethering for those with unlimited 4G?

There is no tethering app in the apple AppStore. Those are against tos.
You will be able to tether for free only if you jb. On stock ios you will not be able to tether without paying for it.

JB is safest way

how is your signal? it won't tether well if theres any problem with signal, even with bars, if theres satellite traffic
