I wonder if someone could assist me with a slight problem I'm having with Safari.
I have an imac running the lastest version of Mountain Lion.
I have customised the menu bar with a selsction of icons but when I close safari or shut down the mac and reopen safari all the customisation is gone and it refverts back to the basic menu bar. I also can not change the homepage as this reverts to an old homepage. I've checked all the settings and preferences but I am unable to rectify this problem.
Any suggestions or help with be greatly appreciated.....

    thanks...:)

    Do you mean the toolbar?
Can you make a screenshot of how Safari looks like you customised it and attach it to your next post?

Yeah sorry the toolbar, not at home at the moment so not able to attach a screen shot but when i say customise i just meant dragging regular icons to it from the customise toolbar option, nothing out the ordinary

Quit Safari then paste the command below into Terminal and hit enter. This will delete your Safari preferences file. Now start Safari again and see if you can save settings.

    Code:
    rm ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
