As you know if you click on the Apple logo, then about this Mac, more info and you click on the "Storage" tab, you'll see how much memory you have and what takes up memory.

Well on my computer, I see my music, movies, pictures and Apps don't take up much space but there is a yellow bar that is HUGE and it takes up most of the bar. It takes up about 90GB of memory. This color means "Other" and I was wonder. What does "other" consist of?! I really wanna free up more space to install more stuff but this is really preventing me from doing so. Please help!

Why not examine your file structure and see where all your space is going?
There are some programs that help you do this, but can use finder.

If you want Finder to display the sizes of folders you need to open Finder select list/details view, Click View > Show View Options check the box marked Calculate All Sizes. Then order your view by size by clicking the heading of the Size column labeled "Size."

A free piece of software is jdiskreport, just google it. It will scan your drive, or any folder you specify, and tell you the size of any and all files in that location.

It will then rank them from largest to smallest, or vice versa, and you can use it to get to the biggest ones and delete them if needed, or move them to an external, etc.

Just tried that, it seems that what tasks up most of my space are my editing software. I have Adobe Master Suite CS5.5 and Final Cut Pro with Motion, Color, etc. I can't remove these programs though because I'm an editor and it's an essential for me... *sigh* I guess I'm stuck with this.
