Problems with Wi-Fi calling

When I come to the hospital to get my treatments I put my phone in airplane mode since I don't really get cellular signal in here. I turn on my Wi-Fi and it shows VZW Wi-Fi. The problem is when someone calls me they can't hear me but I can hear them. If they call back then it works fine. If I call out it works fine. Any suggestions?

if your connected to wifi , and wifi calling is on, there is no need to put it in airplane mode really

unless you want to make the battery last longer?

Have you noticed any difference if you don't put it on airplane mode?

The one time I didn't put it in airplane mode it was the same thing. The first time someone calls me they can't hear them but I can hear them. They either have to call me back or I called them.
