I am trying to get bootcamp set up. When I first start it it says it is important that I do not use windows support software from the OSX install disc and that I need to download it. After I download it, it asks me if I want to burn it to a dvd or to a usb drive. If I click burn nothing happens. If I select a usb drive it says an error occurred. Has anybody else had this problem? I don't have much experience with bootcamp. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Which Mac?

Apple seems to have reverted to this download model for the support software, but it doesn't seem to be actually working on many machines.

Try using the drivers on your OS X install disc, even though it tells you not to. Or, you could download it manually and try to copy/burn it yourself. Seems like the links are here: https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/12105399/

It is a 13" macbook. I just ignored it and went ahead with bootcamp. After I got windows installed I just installed the drivers from the OSX install disc and then ran the software update program to make sure I had the latest ones. Everything is working perfectly. I don't know why it wanted me to download the software before I installed windows but I guess it is not needed.
