I can never seem to install Windows updates in the regular fashion. It starts the download but always stalls about 1/3 of the way through. The only way I can get to install them is to do it manually by individually downloading the files from the Microsoft website. They do install since when I go back to Control Panel-Windows Updates it shows no more available for download.

I have a somewhat similar problem with Microsoft Security Essentials. When it tries to update, it downloads ok but then appears to hang during the install. I can let it go for hours but it never says the update install was completed. But, if I wait a few minutes and then cancel the install, and then check the status it shows that the update was indeed installed.

Anyone else having these problems? Any suggestions?

I continue to have the same problems. It would really be helpful to know if I'm alone or this is a common issue.
