what is the process of returning phone that is on AT&T next but got from the apple Store? Do I go to apple and need to call AT&T? Thanks

@The 12th Man is saying that the process is clearly laid out in the emails you should have received.

I bought my AT&T Next X via Apple, and immediately got two emails with the contract, the mailing label, and the process.

You do not return them in person, you pack up the old phone and mail it in with a provided USPS mailing label.

Sorry maybe I was not clear. I’m talking about returning a new iPhone X I got at the apple store

Oh!

Call AT&T and tell them you want to return it. They’ll have to cancel your Next contract on their end.

All you have to do is return it to the Apple Store with your receipt. They handle everything there. No need to call AT&T. I did this same process yesterday. I originally purchased my phone through the Apple Store App using AT&T Next. They took the return with no problems and my upgrade came back within minutes.

Thanks. Just curious what phone did you return and what did you get instead?

What I did was swap sim cards, set the X to factory; deleting everything on the phone and took the phone to an Apple store to process the return.

Called AT&T to let them know of the return and confirm my upgrade eligibility was back and it was.

edit: never mind, thought you meant returning the new phone...reading comprehension fails after 2am.

So I returned an AT&T X (purchased from Apple on Next ) to Apple. It’s been over 24 hours and AT&T still shows we’re on next.
