Anyone have any idea what the process called "mdimportserver" is about?

It's eating cycles on my PowerBook, sometimes up to 98%, and the fan is running constantly at the moment.

I've restarted and repaired permissions etc,

It's only been there for the last few days.

I'm on 10.4.2

My guess is it's to do with Spotlight: it's a "metadata import" thing. You must have some drive it keeps trying to index.

Got nothing hanging on the ports at the moment, I tried reattaching the LaCie's in case I'd interrupted their indexing, but it didn't do anything.

I've got a widget or two misbehaving at the moment though, I'll play around with those.

Thanks.
