Pre-ordered a 12 Pro Max last Friday. It’s still processing. I ordered my wife a regular 12 at the same time, and it arrived 2 days ago. I’ve never preordered before. Is it normal to take this long to process?

Yes, that’s totally normal. Today was the first day that the 12 Pro Max was actually available to consumers, so today is the earliest that your phone could have been delivered. The 12 was available as of a few weeks ago, so the order for your wife’s 12 was just a regular order and not a pre-order.

Depending on when you ordered last Friday, however, there may not have been enough stock for delivery today. If you ordered as soon as preorders began at 5AM pacific time, then I would have expected delivery today, but if you ordered later in the day then it might not be delivered for another week or two. At the time you ordered it should have given you an expected delivery date. Apple is usually pretty good at making those dates and often phones are delivered even earlier than expected (but never before release day). If you look at your order online now you should see your expected delivery date.

My delivery window is Nov. 19-24. I’m just surprised it’s taking so long to process.

Processing is just the status that they use for pre orders that haven’t shipped yet. At some point shortly before it ships the status will change to “preparing to ship”. But until then “processing” is all you will see.

Got it. Thanks for the feedback, I’ll stop worrying about it now. Day 8 now BTW lol.

Did you choose in store pu or delivery?

I pre ordered on day 1 and it stayed in "processing" status until Thursday and then changed to ready for pu for my in store appointment yesterday.

Delivery. No Apple stores in my town.
