Hey guys,

I just got a 1.0 Ghz processor upgrade for my PowerMac G4 AGP 350 Mhz tower with 1.5 Gb RAM and 64 Mb ATI Radeon video card. My God it's great! I've had this computer for over 4 years and ordered the processor to see what would happen. The thing feels like a brand new machine! If anybody's thinking of dropping a ton of cash into a new tower, my recommendation is to just get a processor upgrade. I spent a little more than $229 and I feel like I'll have this computer for another 2 years or so before getting a new one. Just thought I'd share.

Sounds like a great purchase. Many times processor upgrades don't seem worth it because the money would be better spent towards a new machine, usually with a better video card, bigger hard drive, etc.... but going from 350MHz to 1GHz for $229 is a good deal no matter how you look at it. :)

I know what you mean Atari. I also bought this thing slightly used on Ebay for $900 back then. I feel like I DID get a great deal. Plus I did upgrade the hard drive and video card many years before I got the processor.
