Production of New Thunderbolt-Equipped MacBook Airs Set for Next Month?

Ask yourself why you would want a full OS-X device in that form factor. It's hardly genius, and that's why
won't ever do it.Apple would have to sacrifice the full-size keyboard and probably the trackpad... and according to Steve, "These are areas that you do not want to sacrifice." Making them smaller would be borderline useless.
Hey, they could build a little hub with a cord that plugs into the TB port and provide a few USB 1,2,3 ports, maybe a firewire port, plus a glowing Apple logo on top and call it an iHub.
I hope all these internal specifications being updated in the MacBook Pro and now MacBook Air carry over to the iMac refresh so it is all across the Mac line

Backlit keyboard on it and I am in. Perfect form factor and feature set for what I do all day every day. And less weight in my bag

Apple drives me crazy with their practice of naming everything with a "i" in front of it. I wonder if when Steve Jobs goes to the bathroom if he has an iBM
I wish they would use AMD processors as a way to get around this problem with intel and ati. We would benefit from AMD's gpu's and a better price for the end user. Flame away.
I would also prefer AMD, but I don't think there will be Llanos low-powered enough for the MBA.
Look at the Zacate E-350. It's 18W, and CPU-wise it's at a dual core Atom level.
OK, it's bulk 40nm, and Llano is 32nm SOI, but the quad mobile Llano I've seen is supposed to be 45W. MBAs are at 10W and 17W.
Llano is still a Stars+ core. Maybe next year with Bulldozer Fusion.
Its a little sad though, about the SB IGP
Why? The Intel Integrated 3000 graphics outperform the current Nividia GeForce 320M's found in the current MacBook Airs and outgoing pre-gen MacBook Pro's. So why is an improvement sad?
AMD would be producing better CPU's via increased profits if Apple chose them over Intel from the start.
I always thought that if Apple ever went with something other than PPC that they would go with AMD. Better late than never.

- FireWire was gone from Apple's "future of notebooks" since the beginning of time (2008
)- Thunderbolt is not replacing USBs, it's a supplement to DisplayPort (and can connect to both display and peripherals simultaneously)
Thunderbolt is not a supplement to DisplayPort. It is a downgrade to DisplayPort.
I bet the only TB thingie Apple will build is 1Gbit Ethernet adapter for MBA
lowly iHubs will be served by Griffins and Belkins of the world though ...
I have an original mac portable sitting next to my 11". Laptop design has only downsized from this original beast and gotten faster.
I am not impressed yet. Incremental updates, nothing major or breakthrough.
That's just how it will always be. I'll hold onto this 11" for 8 years and guess what. It's replacement will be just an 11" roll out touch screen computer.

An important detail is that one needs to add the graphics TDP to those Intel numbers, so there's still hope for some Llano goodness.

I've owned an early 2009 Macbook Aluminum, an early 2009 MBP with 8GB of RAM, an I7 iMac, and a Mac Mini server to go along with various Windows machines over the years. My MBA is the best computer I've ever owned. Fabulous!
