I dont know much about graphics work especially on macs. I am hoping there are some professional users that can answer a few questions i have.

1. Are macs better for intense (pro) graphics work?

2. Game developers: Do they use macs?

3. Is graphics software in general better on a mac?

Thanks in advance.

There would be bias on a pc site too..Hopefully i will get facts as well as opinions.

Thanks

I'd have to say one thing,

Macs are better for Graphics work, but I'm not sure about the others

It all depends on what you want to do -

are you doing web, video, animation, flash etc.

Why don't you be a little more specific because it might make a difference.

But in general, Macs aren't better for graphics, its all about the software and most if not all can be found on both platforms. And there are some advantages both ways....rendering animation/video is faster in general on PCs. Flash5 and MX are both faster on PCs (the code is very sluggish on Macs). And part of it is going to be personal prefence as well.

Look forward to hearing more,

it really depends what software you are running. I find Adobe products much better on the Mac but Macromedia on the Mac just stinks. use a PC for Flash work. if you are doing 3D i think you will find that area is sort of PC based. there are great apps on the Mac platform but i think alot of stuff still gets done on SGI and other machines. basically , if you are doing print/video stick with Mac. if you are doing Web/3D you may find the PC more resourceful.
