Just got used appletv....I keep getting this message for history channel et al...the only thing that seems to stream is youtube..
Yes the software is up to date.

More details:
  • From what service are you getting the History Channel et al?
  • If the same service streams to your mobile screens or computers, do you experience the same "program not available" message on them too?
  • What kind of broadband speed do you have (run the speedtest app, including at likely busiest times such as evenings)
  • :apple:TV connected via wifi or ethernet? Try the other for a while just to see if the same problem happens with the other connection (this is more about narrowing in on a potential source, NOT necessarily encouraging you to change your connection)
  • Have you unplugged, wait about 30-60 seconds, and plugged :apple:TV back in for a while?
  • Does this happen at any time of day or only at perhaps very busy times? Maybe after lots of family is at home, all streaming different things to their devices?
  • Does it persist? For example, this happens. You probably click "menu" to step OUT of the app. If you then click right back in and try to play History channel, will it give you that same message again or start playing the channel?
  • When the one you are watching does this, if you click to other channels are they also (All) down at the same time? Or do other channels stream as expected?
More details help strangers help you solve such problems. Not enough clues in the first post to even begin to guess.

This fix is for another problem message i used to get.

An error occured loading this content

Try this & see if it works.

Go to settings/apps/iTunes movies & tv shows and set "quick start" to off.
This worked for me. With the new update Apple is going to an adaptive download
sort of like Netflix. At least that is my observation. I have a very fast connection so
I kept "quick start" set to on but kept receiving the error message. Turned it off
& was able to watch movie without error message.
Hope it works for you.
